Dr. Corey Pettit is a Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in treating anxiety and trauma.  She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia and completed her APPIC-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Pettit is supervised by Dr. Pitula.

Dr. Pettit brings expertise in treating a wide range of anxiety-related concerns in individuals across the lifespan—including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), specific phobias, panic disorder, adjustment difficulties, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  Her clinical approach is shaped by extensive experience working with trauma in diverse settings and is grounded in collaboration, empowerment, and the use of evidence-based care.

She provides therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and couples, drawing on interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Trauma-Focused CBT.

As a researcher, Dr. Pettit has explored how communication patterns in our closest relationships can both support and hinder mental health. Dr. Pettit’s work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Family Psychology, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, Child Development, and Development and Psychopathology.  This focus on close relationships informs her therapeutic style.

Outside of her clinical practice, Corey enjoys playing board games, reading murder mystery novels, going to the movies, spending time outdoors, and exploring Denver’s local food scene.
